Tom Neidecker (incumbent)
Consular District: San Francisco

Summary
I have had the privilege and pleasure to be of service to the Swiss-U.S. community since 2009 as Member of the Council of the Swiss Abroad. With my fellow delegates from all over the world, I enjoy being in discussion, finding consensus and in support off all initiatives, efforts and activities that are in the interests of the Swiss abroad in the U.S. and worldwide. On the forefront: representation abroad, electronic voting, banking, and AHV-related concerns. I am asking for your vote, so I can represent the U.S. Swiss Community for another term.

Detail
I was born in Basel, went to the Realgymnasium, then to a boarding school in the French speaking part of Switzerland. Studied and worked in Basel, Munich and Paris. I came to the U.S. in 1981, working for a company in Silicon Valley, then incorporated the US subsidiary of a Swiss-based international company specializing in high-tech electromechanical components for industry and science. (President / CEO 1982-2004). I have lived in San Francisco since 1981, then moved to the San Francisco North Bay in 1983. From 2004 to 2008, my family and I took up residence in Lugano, Ticino, then returned to Sonoma County, Northern California and moved to Southern Arizona in 2016. My whole life and exclusively since my fifties, I have been collecting books and art, specializing in classic-modern photography. I am married to Martha, a Mexican archaeologist, since 1989 - we share homes in Tucson and Acapulco. We have a US-born daughter, Oriana (graduate of TASIS, Montagnola and NYU), who lives in New York and Miami, and a rescue dog and cat. I regularly visit Switzerland, Europe and Asia, love traveling and believe that immersing myself in other cultures is rewarding and life-enriching.
